Shipping Policy
Thank you for shopping with The Happy Box. We're proud to ship thoughtfully curated gifts from small Canadian businesses across Canada and the United States.
Order Processing
Orders are processed within 1-2 business days (Monday to Friday, excluding holidays). You'll receive an order confirmation email once your order is placed, and a shipping confirmation with tracking details once your box is on its way.
Orders placed on weekends or statutory holidays will be processed the following business day. During peak seasons (Mother's Day, Father's Day, Christmas, Valentine's Day), processing times may extend to 3-5 business days.
Occasionally, processing times may be longer due to product availability from our small Canadian makers, or because a box is built around a specific occasion or seasonal release (such as holiday collections or Mother's Day boxes) with a set ship window. If your order is affected by either, we'll always reach out to keep you informed.
Shipping Destinations and Timelines
We currently ship across Canada and the United States.
Canada: 2-5 business days after processing, depending on destination. Remote areas may take longer.
United States: 5-10 business days after processing. Please note customs clearance may occasionally add transit time.
Shipping Rates
Shipping rates are calculated at checkout based on destination, package weight, and selected shipping method. We partner with UPS and other trusted carriers to ensure safe, reliable delivery.
Complimentary shipping promotions are offered periodically and will be automatically applied at checkout when eligible.
Tracking Your Order
Once your order ships, you'll receive an automated email with a tracking number and carrier link. Please allow up to 24 hours for tracking information to update after your shipping confirmation.
Delivery by a Specific Date
If you need your box delivered by a specific date, please add a note at checkout or email us at hello@thehappybox.ca with your order number. We'll do our best to accommodate your timeline, though final delivery is subject to carrier performance.
International Shipping and Customs (US Orders)
For US orders, all applicable duties, taxes, and customs fees are either calculated at checkout or may be collected by the carrier upon delivery, depending on the shipment value and current trade regulations. The Happy Box is not responsible for delays caused by customs processing.
All shipments to the US include required customs documentation, including HS/HTS codes and CUSMA Certificates of Origin where applicable.
Undeliverable Packages and Address Accuracy
Please double-check your shipping address at checkout. The Happy Box is not responsible for packages shipped to incorrectly entered addresses. If a package is returned to us due to an incorrect address or failed delivery attempts, the customer is responsible for reshipment costs.
Lost, Damaged, or Missing Packages
While rare, issues can occasionally happen in transit. If your package is marked as delivered but you haven't received it, please:
- Check with neighbours, building concierges, or household members.
- Contact the carrier directly using your tracking number.
- Reach out to us at hello@thehappybox.ca within 7 days of the delivery date.
For damaged boxes, please email us photos of the packaging and contents within 7 days of delivery, and we'll work with you to make it right.
